St Marks 4/6 and 4/7

Post by guthooked »

Fished St Marks 4/6 and 4/7 with the wife and kid. On 4/6 found water temps in the high 70s on the East flats and probably caught 50 or 60 shorts and ended up with only 2 keeper trout and one nice spanish. On Saturday, after a very cool ride out, found water temps to be 69 degrees on the west flats. Although cool, I had a much more productive morning with 5 keepers by 10:00. Wind was pretty brisk but the fish were biting well. Went back out after lunch and the wind was pretty much non-existent, but so were the fish. All fish were caught in 3 to 4 feet on sugar and spice gulps under a popping cork.

If you can fish a brisk wind and catch fish do not join any local fishing clubs.

Good job catching them. You did better than we did.
