St Marks 04 28 2012

Post by Dockwilson »

Got out at the light house mid morning. Water was very clear and no wind, almost felt like dog days already. No keeper trout, lots of ladyfish, sharks, short rock bass, one very short cobia. Started in 3-4 ft w new penny gulps and gold spoon. Moved deeper 5-6 still slow. Almost no drift, used trolling motor to keep moving. First time I ever saw scallops swimming up from a boat. Beautiful day. My first mate
got her fill of catching sharks.

Good day out with your first mate!
Glad to hear the scallops are already there... If the rain holds off it could be a great year!

bman....PLEASE don't say that......we need rain badly! I know what you mean but we are critical

Good fishing report even if you didn't find trout.

We fished out of Keaton Saturday. Slow day but we did limit out on trout. New Penny gulp seemed to be what they wanted. We had one used one on the boat. Caught most on white gulp with chart tail. Soft bit. All fifteen with red row. Some large row but a few only pencil size.

:-D At least you caught fish and had fun out there together. We saw scallops at Ecofina too. The water was super clear. :-D
