Possible grander coming in at Destin
Done Deal, which landed the second largest blue marlin in the recent Mississippi Gulf Coast Billfish Classic, is coming in to the scales with a giant blue marlin at the Emerald Coast Blue Marlin Classic in Sandestin. Early measurements calculate the weight to be more than 1,000 pounds. At any rate, it'll be in the big money.
The marlin was landed off South Pass, LA. Don't know any more details at this time. fishecbc.com for more details and live scoring. Started out as 71 boats, but only 38 chose to fish with the possible TS brewing.

Fish weighed in at 783.6 pounds. Long way from grander but still a big one and the new tournament record.
Yes, it is too bad they kill those big girls, but the overall release rate in most events is still in the 90+ percentile.

Hey, I clicked through all the pics and I see Emeril Lagasse was in the tournament. Cool - I didnt know he was a fisherman.
