St Marks on the 4th

Post by Dockwilson »

We rented a pontoon boat from Shell Island Fish Camp, so the whole family could go. Got out @ 7:30. Fished 6 to 8 ft deep. Water very stained. Used gulps, pinfish and then some cut lady fish. Caught a couple dozen or more short trout on all 3 baits. One keeper trout on pin I think. One small porgie, several Catfish, lots of lady fish, lots of real little sharks. Lightning started so we went home.
Nice time.

We hit the mouth of the river just to watch the sunset before the St. Marks fireworks, not really to fish.
Just for yuks because it was so flat we tied up a badonkadonk and the show began.
It got blasted on just about every cast. Trout and jack crevelles.
Didn't see much bait, they mush have been hungry.
