Celestial Crab Thursday Chee

Post by Ranaman »

After last weekend trip with Peng and Calvin I get a call to fish them again with a couple buddies to fill out the boat but this time he asked if I could take Thursday the 12 off to do it well a little twist of the arm and I was heading toward Lanark Wednesday evening. Got breakfast at the house and got Gas at Lanark Market so just decided to drop there while it was still somewhat early. Calvin had been pin fishing of the doc and had us a good start to the day headed off to some closer numbers past the state line since there were quite a few storms around and even spotted one water spout and one forming in two different storms at the same time. luckily we stayed dry and managed to try quite a fee holes in our attempts to do so even found a nice drop off and fished it for a while resulting in one fo the larges Lanes I've ever seen and I managed a nice flounder. Over all not a Epic slaying of snapper and grouper but considering the conditions we had quite the mixed bag and a happy crew even managed a short cobia as our last hook up of the day so we really had some different species lots of Red grouper too just all @ 19 inches. heres is one pic I'll try to get up one of the lane tomorrow!
Spent the rest of the last snapper weekend hanging out in Apalach with all our friends there and another couple so that was last snapper trip for us had a decent year, but certainly hoping next year it can be a little longer!

Thanks for a nice trip Joe! We had to work for em, but we picked up a nice diversity of good eaters. Not quite sure how you managed to catch as many fish as I did in 1/4 the time, but you did.

Hopefully we won't have to wait another year to get together, pm me those links on the drags when you get a chance.

There's your thumbs up :smt005

David PM sent for everyone else this is smooth drag link for upgrading drage washers http://www.smoothdrag.com/
David caught a short Cobia to end the day on a big penn and it seemed like it was a not as smoooth as it could have been that or he just had the drag locked down to getthemupoffthebottom mode but for all you looking to upgrade drag washers I recomend giving miss Dawn a call!
