Holy cow, wasn't the weather this weekend beautiful? Got to the lighthouse right after the sun came up yesterday. Found the reds again, but they weren't schooled up and weren't really feeding. My buddy and I would catch a couple, and then the bite was off. Just kept moving, though, and managed to find fairly steady, but slow, action. The absolute highlight of the day, and the year so far, was catching an over-the-slot red on 8 lb. test. It sure didn't seem like a highlight when I put that beast back in the water instead of the cooler, but that's what da rules say and dats dat. My buddy had a porpoise try to take a puppy red off his hook at the boat, but Flipper thought better of it at the last minute. We did manage to put a nice 21 inch black drum and 20 inch trout in the box, and they fried up just great last night.

Good job EMC. Did you do all this in the East River or somewhere else?

Howdy SR, just saw your question. Fished all the way from East River out around the lighthouse to Big Cove. The fish were spread all over, although most of the reds were in ER.
