St. Marks/Wakulla River water clarity

Post by husbandgotmehooked »

Has anyone been on the St. Marks or Wakulla River this week that can tell me if the water has cleared up since Debbie?

I went out from the lighthouse today and the flats were a lot better than 2 weeks ago. Did not go in the river, but I could see the bottom in 4 ft of water. I even saw a few scallops from the boat.

That is great to hear! I think we went two weeks ago expecting things to have cleared up and it was awful. We went really far up the wakulla just to see if we could find any clear water and couldn't even find it there. I guess you could call me a fair water fisher/scalloper. :D

Was a bit murky last weekend out in the flats. Vis was about 4 feet so it made scalloping tough, but not impossible. Went up the wakulla above 98 and it was not nearly as clear as it normally is. It was at the end of the day so I dont know if the wakulla clarity is due to debby or all the boat traffic throughout the day.
