I know this report is late, been busy. Making me earn my pay. I want to again thank everyone who offered advice on trout fishin and using a cajun thunder last week. Obviously I did not catch anything. :( But, I feel like I had the right tackle and riggings etc...Just the weather was not cooperating. It was extremely windy, I think I heard 10+ knotts staight out of the south with the tide going out. So you could not really drift and cast like you would want to. Still braved it, wife decided to go with me and slept in a sleeping bag in the cc. She slept almost 3 hours, It was great"quiet". We landed at the fort about 9:00 and started fishing a little east of the light house and worked my way to gray mare. I did a lot of exploring"real slow" inland. I saw stuff I have been to nervous to go to in my boat. I ended up in marshes fishing, tide started comin in then. I'm not sure exactly where I was out at, except maybe 1 mile west of gray mare at that point. I could see cars coming down to the light house, that close to the road it seems. I still consisdered it successful, just the wind was not helping, nice day though, real sunny. So I blame my failure on the weather than my abilities that day. I felt confident where I was at and the tackle I had. Could not have done that if it was not for info from you people at this site and other material. Many thanks. I used lectric chicken"grubs" under ct. Used grub on bottom with dead shrimp. Used dead shrimp under ct. Used mirror o lure, chug bug. Used jig and grub on botton and so on. Water temp was 61 degrees every where. I like that poppin noise on the ct, like I said before first time ever used one. Will still keep trying for first trout, over all it was an awesome day other than the wind. Still was on the water and not at work.  You think little Patrick Dulaney would be willing to give a little advise :o

Good job FS's.

You let the water temp reach 67-68 deg and everywhere you went will be a great spot. Now you've been there and seen what it looks like so your ready!!
"Good Judgement" comes from experience, ... and a lot of that..... results from "Bad Judgement".

SR is correct. When they get cranked up you'll be catchin fish everywhere. The water isn't warm enough to really turn then on.............YET! It'll happen. Just keep chunkin and windin.
What was I supposed to do today?
