Well the 15 kt north wind finally laid down about the time I loaded the boat back on the trailer. The rest of the day it blew, kepping the water muddy and preventing the tide from coming in. Wasn't able to make it out to the T-bar, instead had to huddle behind land for shelter. Did manage one trout and a couple of spanish on live shrimp under a cajun thunder. Clean water seemed to be the ticket. Had a few strikes on the sinking mirro-lure, but no hook ups. Looks like the turtle grass may be beginning to sprout. Should be nice ot there today.

Dang, how big-a-boat you got I can put mine in there on a -1.5 and just follow the channle out Seems most of the fish are out closer to the mouth and around the outer flats

I was in my bass tracker TX17, but I haven't learned the bottoms road landing approach real well yet. I did make it out to the flats near the last channel marker, but the wind was howling out there.

NOT ON A LOW TIDE If you go strait out from the ramp, you WILL be grounded! During a low you have to go out from the ramp about 200 foot, turn left towards Piney Island about 600 foot and then bear right following the edge of the big sandbar till you get to the main channel markers

I'm talking about the small channel that gets to the channel ..The ramp is kinda at an angle, looking straight out the ramp is channel marker...There is a small channel according to my depth finder (stick ) there is a small channel that connects to the main channel
As you can see in the airial, you can go towards Dickerson Bay and get to the main channel or go the other way. Since I am usually going out, I take the other It is also deeper in my opinion
