How much per bale? We usually feed coastal bermuda and thankfully not much this year because pasture has been really great due to the rain. I hear from my feed dealer that hay is expected to be in short supply this year and we should start stocking up for the winter. What do you know about that?

They will be in short supply because a lot of people from Texas come over and buy it. Because of drought its harder to find over there and when they do its really expensive. My dad owns a tack shop in town and its hard for him to even find it at decent prices so you deff do need to stock up cause it will be hard to find and probably harder to afford. But worse case this guy sounds like he will have some and our feed store will I'm sure so you will be able to get it just like I said might not be cheap by then

We plant rye every year. In the last year or so we haven't had to supplement with hay. Sometimes the rye does well and we need little hay. Sometimes we need to put rolls out. We only have about 6 acres of pasture so not a lot of grazing if forage doesn't come in well and then we have to supplement withh hay. Just trying to plan ahead. We only have three head of horses, but they eat a lot when out 24/7.
