kayaking for Reds in St George?

Post by mau2w »

I have a fishing Kayak and was wondering where I could get to have a shot at a Redfish and not get too far out into the Bay? I am going to be in the State Park. Any help would be much appreciated. I also wouldn't mind snagging a trout either--anything with fins and gills.

Any place you can find to launch on the bay side is good for trout and reds.

Put in at the park boat ramp and work the bars and marshy areas from the ramp out to the bay. Fish the shoreline on either side of the ramp area, as well as the youth camp zone.

There is an alternate ramp behind the "Youth Camping Area" that will get you where you need to be. (Less traffic)

It was a great day out on the water but very windy. We launched at the youth camp area and paddled out to the end of a nearby oyster bar. I caught a really nice flounder and lots of action with those pesky pinfish.

Low tide in the surf. Bulls are crashing bait. Caught two bigguns couple of days ago.
