My soccer season wrapped up last weekend so I was able to come home for the holiday weekend. Got out today with my brother, his son, and my Dad in my brother's pontoon boat since my skiff is over in Pcola. We put the boat in at the fort right about daylight and headed to our spot. Pretty chilly to start the day but it heated up quickly. The wind was pretty much nonexistant all morning even though the forecast called for high winds. It started to blow a little bit in the afternoon, well after we had our limit. We caught lots of fish all day, all on artificial. My Dad put on an absolute clinic, he seems to be a specialist in the specific technique that we were fishing today. We ended up with 9 keeper reds, a few puppy reds and 2 keeper trout to boot. We brought home 6 of the reds for dinner. We had one red at 18 inches, the rest were between 20 and 24 inches. The trout were 16 and 17 inches respectively. The fish are out there and are starting to stack up in their typical winter holes. Probably back on the water in the morning. Tight lines.
Luc beat me to the post, didn't think he was going to do it. Great to have the "gang" back together. Soccer season has kept us all off the water too long. Luc and I went back on Monday, Otto has additional pics, at least until Lucas sees this.
