St Marks.Sunday 1/20/13

Post by flatsbroke »

Going along with a friend and his wife this Sunday. He has very little salt water experience and she has Been on the flats ONCE!! Thought we'd put in at fort and fish up the river but have never done this,he has a 26ft bay and there will be very lil tide movement that day-high of 1.8 at 1030,low of 1.6 at 1400 hrs. Any advice on tactics or whether we'll be fine in that vessel with said tide. Pretty good at blindly drifting flats but know nothing of this wintertime river trout slam! Just wanna put the 2 ladies on some fish! Thanks,Todd Braswell aka Flatsbroke.

Todd,

Been away from the area for a couple weeks but you will be fine launching at the Fort on pretty much any tide. Head up river and fish deeper curves of the river. Should be redfish and trout up there with the cold snap. Tight lines.
