Need a Camping Spot in the Cedar Key area...

Post by Steve Stinson »

I need to meet my brother and his son for a weekend of camping somewhere near the Cedar Key area. He is in Sarasota, so this is about half way for each of us. My family tows a pop-up camper so islands / boats only access won't do.

We would prefer not to be in with the giant R/V folks and their generators running all night. Primitive sites are okay.

Please let me know if any of you have any suggestions.

Thank you.

She'll mound park is a good spot. Really close to good fishing, but the ramp gets iffy at lo tide. Good luck

Shell mound would be a good place if going primitive, water can and is always skinnv with lots of bars. going on towards cedar key, you might try Cedar Key RV resort 352-543-5097 When you get to way key, camp ground just past #3 bridge that has always been pretty nice and you will be close to everything. Anything I can do, let me know I,m over there all the time.
