Can anyone offer any info on fishing Keaton. Not looking for specific spots just general info. Should I run North or South? Do I have to worry about rocks or unmarked Oyster bars? Any info would be appreciated. I am carrying my son down there this weekend and since we usually fish St Marks, this is new territory for me.
Thanks
Keaton

Re: Keaton
Fished last weekend. We heard of a lot of success North and South. We went North. We fished in 4-5 feet of water. The fish seemed to bite in water that was over 70 degrees. If you have a bottom machine look for a change in the depths and fish the ledges.
I hope you wear them out.

Re: Keaton
Lots of good oyster bars and rock piles north, good fishing around those so tread lightly in close. Lots of good grass flats and a few rocks in close down south, Good fishing that way too. My suggestion would be try both way as the bite moves around down there. Good luck and keep us posted.
Re: Keaton
Thanks for the advice. Will try both areas and glad to know that there are rocks and bars there also. I hope to have a good report for ya'll come Monday.

I like fishing north the best. You should be OK if you stay in 4 foot water. There are rocks and oyster beds, unmarked!

Oh yea, if you want non-ethanol gas get it before you get in the water. Marina is out...
