Slide the Action Craft into the basin around 1030 and headed to the place where stories to tell our grandchildren have been made. The anticipation of what or who might be there was almost too much to bear - alot of sign from the suspect "googian" was at the boat ramp. After reaching the promise land - to our surprise there were no poachers in the "secret spot".
Wind was right, tide was starting to drop, mullet in the air - might as well call the house and tell them to get the grease hot - this won't take long
Started picking up reds with in the first 10 minutes and then it stayed steady for the rest of the day. The bite did taper off as the tide started to slow it's decent - the mullet airing was reduced to a few boils here and there. Though the "green eye" bite was steady and painful the entire day
The fish were caught on the typical piece of metal with a hook. Always on the look for something new and different to show the fish - brought out a prototype bait that I wanted to do some field trials on. Only had one and left my bag of other prototypes at the house. Prototype showed to be something exceptional - out of all the fish that were boat spooked and I got a cast on - they all ate the lure on the run away from the boat
Action Craft Gator moved use around to a few more places and we got a few more reds and endured a few hundred more "green eyes".
Some pictures from the days festivities - thanks for the invite Action Craft Gator
