Apalach to PC vacation

Post by Mossback »

This year for vacation we decided to take our 22 foot bay boat from Apalachicola to PC via the intracoastal waterway. We looked at Marinas to decide where to leave it for the two nights. One of the criteria was walking distance from the marina to sleeping and dining. We got so lucky when the Home4aDay B and B came up on Google which is within walking distance of the St. Andrews Marina. It was a wonderful trip and made even nicer by Lou and Freda. Their Bed and Breakfast was one of the nicest experiences we have had staying away from home. They were so nice and friendly. They have done an excellent job of decorating and furnishing the room. The amenities were the best and our time spent at Home4aDay was wonderful!

Some facts about trip if you are interested. 60 miles by water. The river and East bay is marked pretty well but GPS is pretty handy. Ran around 25 mph over to the bay then decided to step up pace a little to have time to hit Shell Island before we hit Marina. Trip took less than 3 hours to get to Shell Island.

The GF loved the trip. Very remote back in Lake Wimico and the creek.

Sounds like fun. I made a similar journey a few years ago going from Lake Seminole down the Appalachicola to the bay. No place to stay there so just tied off and slept on the river in the boat. Lot's of fun.
