Need help finding fish

Post by SS-342 »

For the last two years we've taken a Kid Fishing and have not caught many fish. We fish St. Marks only once a year to "TAKE A KID FISHING". It is a shame to spend money on a room and another day taking a kid fishing and not catch any fish. We fished the west flats the last two year and the east flats the year before. We caught trout on the east flats but the last two years the water has been to low so we fished the west flats....nothing much!

The kids aren't targeting any kind of fish, anything will do!

Should we bottom fish or trout fish? Where should we go?

Not trying to get anyones secret hole and not interesting in catching fish myself but the Kids sure would like catching something. This year the fishing day is October 26th.

Your suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Thanks for any help.

Been experiencing the same thing toward panacea... head to deeper water... 8-15 feet.
I'd get shrimp and cut bait. A couple of mullet would get you started.
Put some on the bottom and some up top... you will get sharks, cats and maybe a red ;-)

Thanks Bman, we just might have to give that a try.
