A unique website dedicated to fishing information from Florida's Northern Big Bend. This includes the area from the Econfina River west to the Apalachicola River
Due to the Federal Government shutdown, NOAA.gov and most associated web sites are unavailable. However, because the information this site provides is necessary to protect life and property, it will be updated and maintained during the Federal Government shutdown.
But the marine forecast is shut down. I guess we old fishermen's lives are no longer important to them.

The more I know about something, the more I know that I did not know as much as I thought I knew that I knew.
SEE, we can still survive without Washington. Heck, we may even find we like it better!
Oh, by the way, looking like we have a storm to contend with this weekend.

It isn't shut down as far as I can tell. In any case, marine forecast for our area is pretty choppy until maybe the first of next week. I'm not going until it is fairly calm. When the regular snapper season was about to close in the summer I went during a 5-10k east wind forecast, and it was rough as a cobb and we got caught in a violent storm with a waterspout chasing us back to the hill. Two lousy red snapper is not worth a beating and maybe worse.
