Most Productive bait lately?

What's been the bait of choice lately? I've heard cut bait and white gulp a few times.

This time of the year we like to use hard jerkbaits and soft jerks in shallow water around rocky bottom as well as oyster bars. Don't forget topwater.
Last weekend we tore em up on hard jerks in 2 foot of water fishing around rocks.

You nailed it! Well, that's what they used to like anyway....haven't been on the flats in way too long.

I've always found a Cotton Cordell Redfin in Gold (any size) to be highly effective starting around this time of year all the way through the winter to spring. Go ahead and buy a few of em, the trout eat the finish off pretty quick when the bite is really on!
But any kind of jerk-bait should do you well this time of year. The rate of retrieval is more important that the particular bait/color you're using.

Red_Yakker's recommendation is right in line with what we used last weekend, and we had no short supply of bites. Take a sip between your twitches and enjoy the scenery..... but don't forget to hold on!!
