Fish Tomorrow A.M.?

Post by Steve Stinson »

My son has plans for tomorrow a.m., so I find myself without a partner for a trip to the coast in the morning. Anybody who wants to head down to St. Marks or Aucilla area and give it a try is welcome to call me at 509-3116.

Thanks - Steve Stinson

Great day on the water Sat. I took Steve up on his offer and we launched at Shields and headed to the flats early morning. We limited out on trout after hitting a few places. Steve basically caught all the fish. I kept choosing the wrong bait (his artificial vs. my live shrimp). It was either that or some sort of professional courtesy going on that I couldn't figure out. In addition to the 10 trout, Steve hooked up to a Spanish, a flounder, and a black sea bass. We attempted to find some reds, but no luck.

We believe a spinner shark swam around our boat a few times when we stopped at the St. Marks red/white safe water buoy (about 20' of water). The shark actually launched out of the water next to the boat when I threw a jig towards it. As it came out of the water, it spun almost 360 degrees. The belly was white. The seas started to get a little rough where we last anchored (St. Marks Reef), so we picked up and called it a day. Thanks for the fun trip Steve!
