Econfina 10/26

Post by cheesecrakr »

We put out at about 1:00 and went towards Pitts Creek. We fished the oyster bars in the area and in the creek hoping for a red or two, but only got a strike and miss. We went out to 5 feet of water looking for trout and caught a couple lady fish and a 12 inch flounder. Later on at about 5:00 we caught some decent sized black sea bass and waited for dark to try some flounder gigging, but we didn't find any. Not the best day, but we had fun and didn't come home empty handed. I have tried flounder gigging several times now and failed to find any every time... any ideas?

Can't help you with the gigging. I have never done that.
Has the water cleared up? I was down on the 16th and is was all stained and muddy looking.
