Any news from St. Marks?

Post by randymullaly »

Hope everyone has a great Super Bowl Sunday! Im thinking about making a run to St. Marks tomorrow. Haven't seen any posts lately. Trying to decide whether to fish the river or run out to the light house. Any suggestions? Id be very grateful for any recent news.

Thanks…..

We were at Riverside Cafe yesterday. Talked to several fishermen there. Nobody catching anything much.

Was cruising around yesterday and stopped by the Econfina ramp.
There was not one trailer parked in the lot.

My dad and brother fished the river yesterday without any luck. Everyone they spoke to was having the same luck.

Dixiereb,

I might do just that. Where are you catching the specs? I used to do a lot of spec fishing a Talquin but its been a while.

If the lake's not too muddy and it's not too windy, Talquin should be good about now. Feb. was the month me and Dad used to fish it, they were down deep. As warm as it's been, they should be moving to shallower water. I've been going to a friend's pond catching mine.

Fished the St Marks area upriver on Saturday...we caught a few rats and did find a mid slot Red and a decent Sheepshead. If it would quit raining for a couple weeks, the river could come down and the fish should return
