Leave everything a little better than you found it.
For Wakalla Beach, Saint Marks or Spring Creek would be closer. I'm really not up on just what is availiable in those two areas, but I do know that they both have somewhat decent places to stay

“Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you criticize them, you are a mile away from them and you have their shoes.”

I kayaked Wakulla Beach Friday & it was slow. I was real happy with the 22" trout on topwater. I used a CT as well & got no hits. Fish early because the wind will come, no matter what they say. I'd really recommend bringing a cast net and using bait around the outer bars. The south-most one west has a clump of cord grass on it & good bottom all around it. That's where I got the one fish. Patty's Island was nothing.
Oh yeah, the motels. The lodge at Wakulla Springs is close. I think its 50-60 bucks. The hotel at Poseys in Panacea is cheap enough. Camping is close at Newport. Walk to the bar & oysters & music.
Let us know how you do.
