Keaton Beach 3/31/15

Post by zload »

Got on the water around 10 fished past high tide from 18" to 8' caught one 17" trout in about 3' and a rat red in about 1' off a bar. Saw no bait other than a very few scattered mullet jumping, no pinfish pecks, no short trout or missed bites, one clean cut off up in a creek. Two guys in my boat and 2 more in my buddy's boat. Gulp shrimp, live shrimp, topwater, soft plastics, spoons didn't have the kitchen sink or would have tried that too.

Water was 64.5 clear but stained around the creeks, clear around Dekle, that is about 4 degrees cooler than a week or so ago.

I talked to several people in the canal, at the marina and the channel... nobody had more than two trout. One guy said he fished yesterday and today and had two trout to show for it.

Fished from Dekle Beach North. Starting to think Obama, Wet Spring, Solar Flares, Floods from 2012, Red Tide from 2014 or Martians have changed something... :(

Thanks for the report. I'm convinced Hillary erased all the trout off her private server.

We almost went yesterday, now I'm glad we didn't. Sorry they didn't bite, sounds like the water isn't warm enough.
