We fished Rock The Dock last weekend with the focus being on kids. We had 5 dads and each brought one of their children. For anyone who fished Saturday, ya'll know the weather was a challenge. One of the girls caught a nice grouper Saturday before getting seasick. She was a trooper and stuck it out 6 hours after getting ill so the other kids could fish. Sunday we were down to 3 dads and 3 kids, as the other two sets decided the first day was enough action for them.
Yesterday was way nicer than Saturday and we managed to put each kid on a King and a Spanish, to go with what they had caught the day before. In the end, 4 or the 5 kids made it to the leader board with my youngest daughter taking first in Spanish, my buddy OG's son taking second in Kings, his brother's daughter taking 3rd in Grouper (she was the trooper from Saturday) and our captain/sponsor's son taking 3rd in Spanish as well. Our other buddy's son's AJ didn't quite make it as there were some bigguns weighed in.
Even in rough conditions, it's hard to beat hanging out on the water with other father's dedicated to their kids.
Below is a picture of my daughter Abigail getting her first place trophy from Blair Wiggins. She wore her favorite hat (BBF.Net). On a side note, her BBF.Net hat didn't make it onto the boat yesterday and she was some kind of worried that it had gotten lost or blown overboard. Needless to say, when we got to the hill and found it in the truck she was totally relieved. (I have no idea why the pic shows up sideways, sorry ya'll).
Making memories..............
