7/8 and 7/9 Panacea Fishing...

Post by bman »

Wife went to the beach for a few days with her sister and the kids so I went fishing :-D

Day one I took my buddy Ed and his son Gabe
Goal was to catch fish so we stopped at the first school busting bait and caught the heck out of lady fish

Gabe caught several all by himself and reeled in most of ours ;-)
Then we went to chase trout but Gabe had SHARKS on the brain and I obliged

We came in before noon with it getting HOT...

Then today I took my friends son Jacob out. He is going into 8th grade and is a good fisherman.
We got into the trout early boating 9 keepers and lots of shorts + a spanish.
Here is a fuzzy photo of the best five most caught on top water.

Then he wanted to chase sharks and caught this nice +40inch black tip!

Again off the water before noon and on my way home.

I love seeing these boys getting into fishing and doing it well
Great way to spend two days on the water!

To fish, or not to fish, . . . those are the answers.

Yes sir... I usually keep smaller ones but there was no way we were throwing that one back :-D

I plunge them in a cold ice slurry as soon as they get on the boat.
That draws the urea and blood to the guts of the fish.
Then fillet them - and fillet off the skin cutting it shallow to leave as much of the red meat on the skin as I can.
Then trim off all the red meat till you have a clean white fillet.

My favorite recipe is to marinade in Italian salad dressing or some other oil based marinade for about 2 hours - then charcoal grill till its firm.
Of course they also fry up well ;-)
