Econfina Report

Post by PinFishKing »

Went out of Econfina Sunday early. Caught a bunch of gator pinfish. Headed out 40 miles. Limit of grown AJ's in a few minutes. Moved off of the wreck and fished sorrounding area. Kept 20 good grouper. A few decent red snappers and 1 Smoker King. The most exciting part of the day was when a gigantic Goliath Grouper ate a keeper gag by the boat. He inhaled it once, spit it out, inhaled it again, spit it out, then finally swallowed it. All of this was within 10 feet of the boat. Everyone on the boat saw the action up close. It was unbelievable. The fight was on for about an hour until he broke a 100 lb test leader. The Woods and Water boat came up on us right before we headed back. They took pictures of the catch and told us we would definitely be in next month's issue. We had 3 fathers and their 3 sons on the boat.
