Inky Dinky 10-31-15

Post by trout fisher »

Took a buddy to Econfina for his birthday Saturday. Fished primarily Hickory Mound area in 4 ft. Brought home 4 keeper trout, all just a little better than 15". Landed 8 or 10 12-13" trout. Was very excited to be catching trout again. Caught 2 very nice rock bass in that depth as well as a bunch of shorts. My buddy likes croaker so we kept 3 of those along with a good eating-size shark and sailcat, (they do eat good as appetizer nuggets). Caught the fish using new penny, glow, and electric chicken Gulps under the popping cork. Managed 1 mullet in the cast net. They are still not podding up but it has to be close. Water temp was 74 all day. The wind blew!

As a side note, my soon-to-be 17 year old daughter used to call the Econfina Inky Dinky when she was little. Miss those days.
