At least odd for me...
Shot a hen common goldeneye on a freshwater pond on Wednesday.
My dad shot a drake one on the same pond about 30 years ago.
I have seen a few others on the salt but this was a first for me.
One more part of our very strange duck season.

Blame it all on El Nino.

That is what having two toddlers and owning your own business does!
I think it adds character

That's pretty random but cool. I had two fly over me the last day of the season a few years ago on Jackson. Unfortunately they got by before I new what they were. Their wings make a different noise than other ducks when they fly.

Neat! I've never seen one in the wild.
