St. Marks Report 4-8-16

Post by lordsfisher »

I took my wife fishing for the first time ever today. I knew it was supposed to be windy, but sheesh! I wanted her to catch something easy so we went south of the Lighthouse to try for spanish first. One hit, and a couple lady fish. Wasted effort there. Went inshore and fought only one keeper red, only to loose it at the boat. A few short trout. The water was heavily stained and maybe too much freshwater pouring out at the mouth of the river from the recent rains. Tomorrow morning is supposed to be the same, so might be good to plan to stay in the rivers out of the wind instead of taking a beating trying to navigate the bay. My wife saw her first wild dolphins and they came up to the boat for a visit so at least it made it worth it for her.

Keep it up and you'll soon have her hooked! My wife and I enjoy fishing together. Makes for some enjoyable times to have your best friend as a fishing partner.
