St. Marks; that's why we call it fishing

Post by Phil. 4:8 »

Took the Pa-in-law out to see if we could beat the rain yesterday and take advantage of the approaching low. Got drizzled on, but not too bad. Fished the incoming and first of the out going tide. Tried the drift east of lighthouse in 4 to 6 feet of water. Semi-clear water with an east wind and moderate chop. Used jigs and shrimp under a popping cork and no cork. Nobody home. Checked the creeks and mouths for trout and reds; nobody home. Set up a "sure fire", always catch em drift out from the lighthouse. Nobody home. That's why we call it fishing and not catching. Better luck next time.

It was tuff fishing yesterday. I took a newby out on his day off from work also out StMarks. We fished the east and west flats but never found the fish. The red bite was on for short time but only managed 3 rats. Caught about dozen dink trout and did get 1 keeper that went 18''
It was TUFF

Yup that was a rough day. I went by myself and the bites started coming fast at about 9:30, got two keeper trout, but after that 30 minute span I couldn't nail any more fish the rest of the day
