Mullet Run

Post by Mister Mullet »

Got a call tonight from my son Josh in Boynton Beach to tell me the mullet run has started. Boynton Inlet is full of finger mullet. Snook and tarpon will be feeding on them all night. Brought back fond memories of mullet runs years ago. I went back in time 50 years to some epic beach battles with tarpon, snook, jacks and sharks. Then I retire to the reading room and open the latest issue of Tide (the CCA publication) and there's a great article by our own Capt. Dave Lear about...the mullet run. Great piece. Now I'm all sentimental about times gone by. I might just need to make a run south within the next few months.

Thanks Jerry. That was a fun one to write. Can't believe my old buddy Capt. Mike Holliday has been at it for 30 years. He's a machine.

Heading down myself the first part of October and you can bet I'll be throwing DOA BaitBusters at some hungry tarpon and snook. 8)
