MOONLITIN ST. MARKS

Post by ALMAR »

JIMMY HOLDEN AND I LAUNCHED THE BLUE LIGHTNIN AT MID-NITE. WE SHOULD HAD STAYED HOME. IT OVERCAST THE WHOLE TIME WE WERE THERE. WE ONLY HAD 5 STRIKES IN THE 2 HOURS WE FISHED AND NO HOOK UPS. JIMMY WANTED TO FIND OUT IF IT WAS THE MOONLIGHT THAT CAUSED THE FISH TO FEED OR IF IT WAS THE PHASE OF THE MOON. WELL I THINK WE KNOW NOW THAT IF THAT MOON IS NOT OUT BRIGHT THE FISH DO NOT BITE. WE DID NOT CATCH THE FIRST FISH. LOADED THE LIGHTNIN AND HEADED BACK TO THE HOUSE , GOT A COUPLE HOURS SLEEP AND NOW UP AND AT EM.

I guess ya gotta go at night ta catch some fish now. What is it, the heat of the day makes 'em wanna bite late when it cools off? I'm gonna get brave one night and try that night fish'in. It sounds a lot like the night bass fishing we did when I was a kid, and we did good most nights.
Almar, do they leave the gate unlocked for you when you're out there? If not, how do you get out ?

PA,

Sorry to hear you have those off times like the rest of us :(

I knew the gate lets you OUT automatically after hours but I didn't know you could get IN the same way.

Saw your place this past weekend. Never been down that road before - it was a right pretty drive.

Sometimes you do everthing right, and conditions are perfect, but the fish

are off on vacation somewhere.... :-?

Look at the bright side, you had a chance to fish while we all were sleeping.

I CAN NOT TELL YOU HOW WE DO IT. THE NEXT TIME YOU GO DOWN TO THE LIGHTHOUSE ON YOUR WAY OUT JUST BEFORE THE GATE THERE IS A LITTLE SIGN, IT SAYS STOP CAR HERE, IF THE GATE IS CLOSED IT WILL OPEN WHEN YOU STOP THERE. YOU BREAK A BEAM WHICH OPENS THE GATE. I THINK YOU CAN FIGURE HOW TO OPEN IT IF YOU WANT TO GO IN WHEN IT IS CLOSED.
