Keaton Saturday 6/17

Post by Heath »

Hit the water around 7:30 Saturday morning. plan was to catch some fish and then scallop. We fished the 5-7 foot depth with no luck, not even a short trout. Moved to 8-10 feet and caught a few short trout. Moved farther north and managed 1 keeper trout, 1 Spanish, and 5 12-15 inch rock bass. Caught more short rock bass than anything. Did have a 4ft shark cut the leader on a gulp.

We then decided to hang it up and go scallop. Had the same results very, very little luck. We were down towards dark island. Saw a few boats anchored so we tried there for a couple hours and came up empty handed. Maybe its too early or they are in different location. Talked to a few people when waiting in line at the ramp. They had the same results.
