Wind Prediction Site

Post by silverking »

My condo-mate in NC at the recent Pirate's Cove Billfish Tournament does regular yacht deliveries up and down the Eastern seaboard. He swears by windy.com as a tool to predict the wind and sea conditions. I've played with it a little bit so far and it does seem very accurate. One of the coolest aspects is the ability to slide the calendar ahead to predict winds at a particular spot for the selected date. They also have a phone app which I haven't downloaded yet.

Just another arrow in the quiver. 'Cause we all know NOAA isn't the most accurate.

That's pretty cool, drag over to TX and click through the next week and imagine sitting under a Tropical system for a week!

I downloaded it, can't find the wind speed. Neat little graphic, but no numerical wind speed

Not sure about the app, but on the web site if you mouse over a point, the data pops up.
