Gunsmith Recommendation

Post by Danibeth »

Hey all,

I've got a gun that needs some work. I am pretty certain I know what's wrong with it but I don't have the right tools to remove the old parts and install the new parts (they are installed with rivets not pins) to see if that is where my problem lies. I am looking for a gunsmith here in the Tallahassee region that does nice work. I may ask them to do some re-bluing but I haven't fully decided on that. Any recommendations?

Dannibeth, you can check with Frank at coon bottom gun club. He does good work, but I'm not sure he does everything. He did a good job on the ejector in one of my ou's, he may answer the phone all week , but they are only open wed, sat and sun. There is a place in town called masters of rod and gun, but I have no experience with them. Good luck

I've had good experiences with Master of Gun and Rod for both handguns and rod repair. Good folks.

Tommy Tysall, Mayo FL. Period. My dad had a BL-22 that Mom gave him on their first anniversary, 1973, I believe. He hauled it in a gun rack for God only knows how many years. Dents, dings, multiple handling marks. I snuck it to Tommy and had him “renew” it. I knew it would devalue it as a ‘collectible ‘ but also knew it would never be for-sale anyway. Got it back, looked like brand new.. can’t recommend high enough. Yes
