Econfina trout
Trout fishing at econfina has been extremely slow the last couple weeks has anyone else noticed this. I was out in about 8' of water and noticed the Algae was really bad could this have something to do with the trout bite
Re: Econfina trout
The bite was terrible last week. I wonder if the fish are moving to other areas, maybe following shrimp or baitfish?

Re: Econfina trout
the fish we caught last week were full of shrimp
so the fish are following them
so the fish are following them

we've been hammering fish out of Econfina for the past month. I feel like I should be trolling for marlin in 8'...

I fished for bait and only caught 2, there didn't seem to be a lot of small baitfish around.

. Pinfish are there. We easily caught dozens. But smaller ones were hard to come by.DixieReb wrote:I fished for bait and only caught 2, there didn't seem to be a lot of small baitfish around.

Fishing at econfina had been good but the last few weeks no matter what depths you try the trout are not there

I'm trying to help you...cleanlivin wrote:Fishing at econfina had been good but the last few weeks no matter what depths you try the trout are not there
A lot of folks have put tournament fish on the board out of Econfina the past few weeks. If you honestly believe the fish aren't there, then try a different section of coastline, but trying different depths and it may change your view that their aren't trout around...

Re: Econfina trout
I agree that there are no fish at econfina. Myself and Ed Falcone were only able to place 2nd in the optimus tournament fishing from there. That did it for us. Gonna find a new spot. Probably Lanark. That place always has plenty.

I gotta agree with Showboat... haven't had problems finding trout.
