Welcome aboard Fishman.
Sounds like you got the hang of it already if you're hot, could have caught more, didn't catch big enough, and hangin your head when you ocme back in... yep you know the same secrets I do.

Frequent this site and you'll find out more or look back thru the posts.
One thing for sure, good fishin may have been good and will be good again.. now inshore - it's kinda in the middle between spring and the fall peaks.

Does that sum it up boys?

In the same boat

Post by Gilligan »

Just bought a small carolina skiff, used to go to intracoastal around
Jacksonville when I was younger, been out a few times with someone
who is a little familiar with land marks etc. around St. Marks LH so as not to sink myself. I did see a fish one day, not in the boat either. Good Luck.
Got to get some fish in the boat, sooner or later.

Welcome Fisherman. You're starting the season at a bad time of year. We should all be scalloping around this time - if there were any - to fill the gap. Use this time to learn more about the area so when it cools off in the fall you'll be ready to haul them rascals in to your boat.

You may want to join the North FLorida Gulf Fishing Club to meet other Fisherfolks and learn more about fishing in this area. It meets the third Thursday each month at Beef O'Bradys on Thomasville Road at 6:30 p.m. Check out their web site at nfgfc.org. Just a thought.

I fish St. Marks very little, but I think they act the same all around our area :o I like ta fish 2 to 5 foot early and work my way out towards 10 to 12 foot as the day warms up. It will be tough ta find em, but when ya do, they will be a bunch of em and ya just gotta follow em as they move :-D
