Put in at the lighthouse around dawn and headed to the East River. Nothing happening. Out to the flats and right in front of us . . . . tarpon. Of course, nothing in the boat rigged for tarpon. Tailspotspotter got a couple of casts with a topwater, but no luck.

That would sum up the rest of the day. No luck. Short trout, sea bass, ds's, ray, shark, and one HUGE TROUT that threw my buddy's hook at the boat. Best part of the day was getting in the water and drinking a few at the bird rack, cuz it was burning hot.

Ain't complaining, though. Would rather be out there again than about to mow the lawn.
