Myself, a friend, and his son left out of West Pass with the sun just startin to break the horizon. Ran west for a couple of miles and set her down just off of the bank to try a little Red fishin. The water seemed alot clearer than it has for the past few trips, and man was it calm. We struggled to boat 3 Reds(17-20) and half a dozen Trout(16-19). The bite was very slow and the water was way to calm for my likings. Once that big fire ball in the sky started working it's magic, we decide to idle around and count rocks . After an hour or so of that we decided to drift an area we found well offshore that was littered with rocks and sand holes. We picked up a few more Trout and saw some nice Redfish, but couldn't get them to eat. We looked to the west and saw that our 30% rain chance must have had a good breakfast, 'cause it was closin in on us fast.
We decided to call it a day, and ended up getting soaked at the ramp anyways. All in all we caught some fish but didn't tear'em up, and made it back up the Aucilla on low tide with the foot still attached to the motor.
