On the GPSMAP 162 can I u/l the mapsource files on the BBF chart page or do I need to have the Bluecharts CD installed in order to do this.

If you have the mapsource software, you can upload the files. You don't need the bluecharts.

Thanks guess i will have to wait and see if it came with anything, some do some dont.

I don't think it comes with it. But Don, you should get the bluecharts. It will be the best 100 bucks you can spend for the boat.

I orderd a Garmin GPSMAP 76S yesterday on ebay. It comes with a bunch of highway charts, topo charts, and street maps. I also need the blue charts for our area. I paid a fair chunk of change for the unit, but it was cheaper than I could find it anywhere else.

Gpscity.com has them for 109.95. Bluecharts with one unlock code. You can take that to west marine and they will price match it.
