Rhodes,

I carry an ACR ResQLink View personal locator beacon. I got it because it can fit easily into life vest pocket and it doesn’t require a subscription service. However, the PLB got jostled once while out on the boat and now I carry it in a hard case to minimize the risk of accidentally triggering the Coast Guard.

Now that West Marine is having a sale on safety equipment I may purchase a Garmin InReach Mini2 Satellite Communicator.

Let us know what you decide to get.

My understanding is that the PLB has 24 hr signal duration, full size epirb has 48…..
PLB is smaller and easy to pack.
Also, if they ain’t found you in 24 hrs………

I have a PLB inside my auto inflate life vest that I wear 100% of the time. I want them to come and rescue me.....not the damn boat. lol

Now you have to go way far out and show us pictures of all the fish you catch.
