Went back out today; but, things were much slower. Pretty much got skunked unless you count pinfish. Tried several different grubs, jerkbaits, topwater, and pinfish on a CT. Zero...The area where I was fishing was full of very large gar. Do these guys tend to run everything off?? Still a good day on the water with no problems.

Probably means the water was pretty fresh. At this time of year, trout will avoid a lot of fresh water, even tho they move up the rivers in the winter months.

Fish'in must really be off right now. Nobody's doing much, and it's so close to fall they should be start'in to bite. Isn't it strange how you can get fish in an area one day, then come back the next and nuth'in be there?
The whiting should be showing up in Ochlochnee Bay soon, they're fun.

Saturday at St. Marks was somewhat the same. We cought 75% of our fish between 6:20 and 7:00am before the bite stopped. Then suffered through the heat.... but it was fun!
