WTB 14' Jon Boat

Post by rocket »

Looking for a 14' Jon Boat. Needs to have at least a 36" bottom width, would prefer wider. Might even be interested in a 16'.

Hey Rocket.... there are two sitting in a yard on County line road just north of the by-pass. I haven't stopped to look at them though.

I stopped and looked at them. One has seats and is about 13-14', in good shape, didn't look close.

The other is about 18' long, sign said $800 obo. It is flat bottom, thin gauge alum. If it was thicker stuff I would be interested. Flimsy sides.

Between the bypass and hwy 19n on 202.

Rocket, I'll try to get by one day this week. Maybe Redbelly will get a chance as well. Other than 36" bottom, what else are you looking for ?

That is about it. The wider the bottom the better. It doesn't really need anything else as far as I'm concerned.
Thanks

Hey Rocket... that boat is a 15', 40inch wide bottom. Someone converted it , added seats (3) carpet, has a foot controlled trolling motor, depthfinder, livewelland I think a bilge pump.. The guy has steering controls for it but it will need a piece of wood replaced. Magic tilt trailer. No motor. He is asking $1500.00 but said if you didn't want the trolling motor he would take $1250.00. He said it doesn't leak. His name is Jesse, 229-226-2702. Boat didn't look to be in bad shape but I was in a hurry and didn't really poke around a lot. A few dings but nothing major.

The other boat is about 20 ft. I didn't look at it close but he said it does leak. :o

Jim
Thanks for the info, but I'm really looking for the "stripped down model". I just want to hang a go-devil off the back, and duck hunt  .
Thanks again,
Rocket

Rocket, my experience has been that hunting a used aluminum jon boat is about the same as hunting hens teeth. :o

I never found a used one.
What was I supposed to do today?

Seems like I'm always a day or two away from what I'm looking for. I've had a handful of people tell me they just sold theirs the day before I ask them. :smt091 :smt013
