Got to the LH just after the negative low tide on Saturday. Putted out, went east to a spot in about 15'. Caught a bunch of trout, mostly right at about 15 inches. Also caught a bonnet head shark that went about three feet, and the usual assortment of small grunts and sea bass. Went to East River on the rising tide, and we got our two keeper reds for dinner.

I think the fishies are starting to wonder if winter is ever going to arrive. This weekend's "cold" front should shake things up some.

Good job Crawfish  Sorry for the late response to your post.

What did you catch the reds on, and how far back in were you?
"Good Judgement" comes from experience, ... and a lot of that..... results from "Bad Judgement".

The fish were near the mouth of the river by the bars. We fished live shrimp on the bottom. The water was too rough for the chug bug, and the aggressive incoming tide made the gold spoon not very workable (those are my two lure choices for the reds).

I should warn that those were the ONLY two reds we caught in over two hours of fishing up and down the river. Just talked to a buddy who got zero reds in the East River on Tuesday and Thurday, so we appear to be in hit-n-miss mode as the reds begin to transition up the St. Marks looking for a spot to hunker down during the cold months.
