Dog Island Shoal 11/8

Post by Littoral »

Started hunting kings first and after nothing on 3 sites we came inshore to what we really wanted to do anyway, listen to Spanish make the drag sing. I did hook a ~150lb shark off shore which was, briefly, very impressive.
At DI we started with topwater and the fish didn't want it. They were there so we went to plugs- nope. Then a Gotcha picked up one and when I tried a Gotcha a big hound fish got too close so he turned into cut strips for jigs. Mylar jigs with cut strips were the ticket. Caught about 50 Spanish, most of which were 5-6 lbs. Light gear screaming drag, I can safely say we had a lot of fun.

DOG Lit
Makes me wish I didn't have a job :hammer: so I could just "fish" all the time. Monday's must be great days for fishing.

mj, Weekdays are great. 8:00 & no boats at Lanark. I'm lucky to have some flexibility with my job. I work some weeks away & build up comp = fishing days.
