Charter-Fishing

Post by drayno »

Guys,

We're going down to Tampa Bay on the 25th and staying through the 27th coming back that night. We're meeting some friends for the Jimmy Buffet concert and they want to go fishing. I seriously doubt that the fishing from bridges and piers out there will be much better than it's been here. I talked to a charter guide from http://www.bigfishadventures-florida.com/ today and he seemed really knowledgeable and cool, but the price of $600 is a whole hell of a lot of cash. I really want to bring up some grouper and AJ it's been over 8 months since I've had a full cooler coming home, shore fishing just doesn't produce the way deep sea does.
Any idea's on what to do or where to go? Trout are legal right now out there, but I don' know how they will be biting in the flats, I can rent a boat and do that out there. :smt100 Give me a holler and let me know. Is $600 too expensive for a full day at about 60 miles out? :smt026 Where would you go if you were boat-less? :smt026

600 is the going rate for an offshore charter. It all depends on how bad you want to fish offshore whether its worth it or not.

I was thinking $600.00 was very cheap. We went on the Bottom Line out of Mexico Beach in October and i think it was $1,150.00 not including tips, for 12 hrs, but you know it was worth it, man those guys catch fish, we filled the fish box in 8 hrs, had 2 grouper over 40 lbs and 1 around 35lbs, so if you get a good charter to take you that far offshore for that money, i'm thinking he's not making much so do it while you can. Especially if your all dividing up the cost, about $ 100.00 bucks each, its hard to go offshore fishing anywhere for that, even in your own boat !

Good luck

If it's $600 total and there's at least 4 of ya going, it's worth it  if it's less than four, wait till ya get back here and offer $100 for a tag along trip with someone :-D
