Pond In the Back Yard

Post by Fisherman989 »

ImageThis is what we do when the wind is to high...and it's closed season. Got this one at 9 1/2, one at 8 and one at 6lbs. Kept the big one. Pond is behind me. It's only a water hole....but has over 10 pounders.

Wevans....a buddy of mine and his wife said they saw you about 10 days ago either on the Sop Choppy or Oklocknee...bass fishing. They were using shiners....you were plugging. They went on to limit out...and you've already reported you did well that day. Bass and cat fishing sure fills in the gap during these days of closed trout season. :D

Dern '89, thems big old cats. 'Guess you feed'um pretty good.
I'd love to have a pond full of fish.
Only problem would be, 'Wat'ser name' would name'um all, and I'd have to sneak out to catch'um. She'd make me feel guilty about eatin' Elvis, or Mr. Whiskers, or whoever.. Even the corn snake that hangs around the house has a name- 'Hiss'. And 'Hodini' the flyin' squirrel that lives in one of the birdhouses..
Oops, off the subject matter here.
Again, nice catfish. 'Bet ya got a bunch of bream in there, too.

Outrage.....nope on the bream in the pond. I think thats what these big cats are eating. I've stocked it twice with bream....but hardly ever catch any....nor see any either. I had trouble cleaning them ...at first....they acted like tame chickens...but I got over that.
I caught this cat on a piece of left over link sausage from breakfast. He's in the refrigerator now. First cat I had to nail to a tree to clean in 20 years.D
