Looks like 2 shafts and a float line. Doesn't take balls, just the right equipment for the job.

Balls is to shoot one with a freeshaft. Skillz is getting him to the boat.

Do you think that fish took him for a long ride after he had a spear in him?

Nope, like I said he shot that fish with his spear attached to a floatline with what looks like aircraft cable. The spear was not attached to his gun. I would imagine there is a another floatline just out of the picture since it looks like he put 2 spears in him.

If you guys want to see footage of how this works you should watch Offshore Adventures on ESPN. The had an episode a few weeks ago where they were shooting wahoo and tuna like this.

I saw that episode. The one were it pulled it down so fast that it imploded the bouy. Pretty cool stuff.

It should have with that azz shot he made on him  Tom..trust me...the only ballz it takes to shoot a fish with a freeshaft is the $ you spent on the shaft. I have chosen to freeshaft many large fish in midwater to avoid the asskicking if I didn't stone them. :D
